Love a Local Business Comes to Sacramento

lalbsacThanks to the fantastic support we’ve seen for local businesses since the launch of our Love a Local Business Grant Competition, we at Intuit decided to take it to the street. Next month, we will celebrate small business in our home-state’s capitol – Sacramento, CA – with a free event and new sweepstakes opportunities.

Like so many people across the country, Sacramentans passionately support their small businesses. In a recent Intuit survey, 90 percent of the state capitol’s residents said small business is vital to building strong communities and neighborhoods. Additionally, 65 percent wished there were more small businesses in their area. We applaud their love for local business!

Here’s a snapshot of the event:

Who: Intuit will host Sacramento businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs.

When: March 12th, 11am-6pm PT and March 13th, 11am-9pm PT

Where: 1801 L Street, Suite 70, in Sacramento’s Midtown Business District

smbiz2Love a Local Business – Sacramento Sweepstakes

Sacramento businesses that are entered in the Love a Local Business Grant Competition will have special opportunities to win more grants. Those attending and checking in at the Sacramento event will be eligible to win one of five $1,000 cash grants, plus free Intuit products and services. Additionally, each week from now until the event, three participating businesses will be randomly selected to win $500 cash grants.     A facebook account is NOT required to vote for a business on LoveALocalBusiness.com. To validate your vote, an account that has been verified by one of these networks is required: Yahoo, Google (Gmail), AOL, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, TypePad, WordPress, or Blogger. Small business owners who nominate themselves, must use or create an Intuit Login. All of these accounts are available for free.
